! Worker Beware !

I was asked by Ron Collette (is that his real name & is he from NH?) to obtain a domain name and put up a website for colletteconstruction.NET   Ron did not pay for the domain name or the hosting. He has paid NOTHING since I began working for him.
He now owes me just under $1500.00!
So I put this website up anyway (why waste my money?) in the hope that other (jobless?) people seeking work in a shit economy, and expecting to be paid for such work, may understand what
may be encountered, should one attempt to do a bit of investigation and find this website.

Ron hired me to paint modular homes. The work I, and others, performed was done at Preservation Village Fairplay (Fairplay, Colorado).  This is a development that has sat idle or has had very little work done for years.   I heard first hand from another complaintant who
said he had done some extensive plumbing work on this site. He seemed to be doing some
permit investigations. Supposedly, the site was shut down for various violations. Ron had all
kinds of explanations about who bought the place and how it was to progress......

Work on this site was sporatic and Ron did not act like anything was a rush to get done. We sat in his apartment quite often, with his girlfriend (Destiny, who helped provide "cover" for his lies, but
who seemed to prefer to lie around in a stupor), for an hour or two talking and watching TV...
among other things... because there were either no supplies or other work needed to be done first.

During the time I actually began working for Ron (October 5 - October 26, 2009) people who were already working on the site "dissappeared". I was actually "hired" on September 26 and quit my other job after a notice. A neighbor of mine (I found out after we both stopped working that
he was a neighbor) was also hired by Ron, who I talked to on the job. We worked about the same time frame. He had not been paid either. Ron even "lamented" to me that this guy had a wife who
was pregnant, who had no money, and he "really needed to get him, and me, paid".
NEVER HAPPENED!

I paid out-of-pocket nearly $60 to buy painting supplies and painted the apartment next door to
him first.  Then, slowly, moved on to the modulars that were in various stages of construction. I performed plastering work for all the cracks that were showing up. There were massive openings
at the peaks of the roofs in at least one of the buildings.

I WAS NEVER PAID ONE PENNY FOR ANY WORK I DID FOR RON COLLETTE. I was promised $30/hour and my supplies would be reimbursed. He talked often about the various jobs that were coming up and how much money I would be making on the job(s). He told me how much money he was making for setting the modulars ($75,000 was one quote). How much he would be making to "winterize" a multi-million dollar mansion in Vail (with a million dollar budget)
and for me to set a price to help do that.

I suggest to you, potential job seeker in this shit economy, to verify everything that he tells you,
and check the permits, prior to beginning work. Make sure the supplies promised are are on-site.
I suggest NOT paying for one damned thing up front!

It appears to me that this project is a very slowly ongoing process that seeks no real end. I ask,
is this "job site" simply a method to fulfill an obligation to be used as a tax write-off by people with
very scrupulous tactics? Is Ron in this alone or is he in bed with his "bosses" who he claims
to be very wealthy?

When I asked Ron, multiple times, he refused with his silence to provide the names, phone
numbers and addresses of the "owners", his "boss(es)", of this site who hired him to, seemingly,
be the front man to take the brunt of the anger from people who have been "robbed" of rightful
wages for their labor. He had stated early on that he would be paying me. Is he not liable for this
even if someone else is paying him to pay me, because RON was the one who hired me!
I have many text messages from Ron that PROVE he owes me money.

A couple of names that were thrown about by Ron was Royce Trolley... Who he later said the
guy had changed his name to Royce Tolley. Look him up! WHO, in their right mind, with
seemingly endless amounts of money, would have hired this guy?! Would it be the other "main"
man that Ron told me was very close to Ronald Regan, who had recently attended his daughter's wedding? I think he said his name was Wayne Bingham (or was it Walter?). This name does
not bring up what he has claimed in a search.

I quit my job in the same town to take this one. Ron acts like a very nice guy, chubby, baby-doll
eyes, smooth talk and, as it turns out, seems to spew out nothing but bullshit as far as I can tell.

Other sites mentioned to me as near-future work: Leadville, Blue River,
Aspen/Carbondale, Lakewood... All were described as being modular home construction,
except one (Lakewood) that was described as forclosure cleanups, being dumped into his lap because "his buddy" could not do the work anymore... and the mansion! He seems to have a lot
of "buddies". I wonder, how many he actually has and how many are still around?

Ron also stopped by my house one day to describe to me how he was arrested at the job site
and was escorted to Denver by the cops and Denver Housing Authority for an "interview". He was supposed to pay me that day... like so many other days that it never happened. He was so
pathetic, head-hanging and all. I was to be paid by the 30th! right..........

He also said at least twice that he would pay me and my neighbor out of his own pocket if he didn't
get the money from his "boss". He even "called his Mom to have her take money out of his account and get it to him so I could be paid". NEVER HAPPENED. He couldn't explain why the money
didn't come. That was when he became silent.

It appears that t he site still sits relatively idle with very little visible work being done. Exteriors still look the way they did... like shit.

Keep very good records of all encounters with Ron Collette. I did!
I even have many text messages which PROVE that he owes me money!

Get names, business names, addresses, and phone numbers of the people who will,
supposedly, pay you. Do a search! Though requested many times, I have not been given any
information on the people who were to pay for the work I was hired to do - even though the reply
to my request was "Will do". He is a professional con man and liar extraordinaire!
